Core i7-4700HQ vs. Core i7-4700MQ (Intel Core i7-4700HQ vs. Intel Core i7-4700MQ)
Both are powered by the identical Intel Core i7 four core CPUs, but with distinct name extensions, as you may have observed. The Lenovo Y510p has 4700MQ while the MSI GS70 has 4700HQ. So, which of the Core i7-4700HQ and Core i7-4700MQ processors is better?
Technically, none is superior; both CPUs are identical. They share the same clock speeds, cache capacity, features, and integrated graphics processor, among other things. They are also identical in terms of performance. They’re similar to two CPUs. So, what exactly is the difference between the HQ and the MQ?
The socket on the Core i7-4700MQ is detachable. That is, the CPU may be removed and replaced. It can be upgraded. The Core i7-4700HQ, on the other hand, isn’t. The CPU is attached to the motherboard through soldering. It is not possible to update or delete it.
SLI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M compared. SLI NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
Even in desktop GPU, the GeForce GTX series is the superior graphics processor. They are the top-of-the-line series, while the GT series is in the middle. When a GeForce GT 750M is compared to a GeForce GTX 765M, there is little question that the GTX 765M will handily surpass the GT 750M. Will the outcome be the same if you put two GT 750M (in SLI mode) against a GTX 765M? Take a look at the graph below.
The graph above shows that a single GT 750M is no match for a GTX 765M. However, the GTX 765M may be outperformed by a GT 750M SLI (or two GT 750M). Although the performance difference isn’t huge, the GT 750M SLI is quicker than a single GTX 765M.
So, should you go for the GeForce GTX 765M or the GeForce GTX 750M SLI? The response will, in most cases, be entirely dependent on the user (a.k.a user preference). The GeForce GTX 765M may not be as quick as the GeForce GTX 750M SLI, but it will use less power since there is only one GPU to power. While compared to the GTX 765M, the GT 750M SLI is quicker and may provide more frames per second when gaming.
However, since you’re running two GPUs in one gaming laptop, it’ll use a lot more power and generate a lot more heat. Furthermore, some users have reported that when in SLI mode, they are having issues with some games. Laptops and notebooks with SLI are not as stable as desktops with SLI.
Conclusion: MSI GS70 versus Lenovo Y510p
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P and the MSI GS70 Stealth are both excellent gaming laptops. Each has its own distinguishing characteristics and advantages over the others. Based on the specifications and features of both gaming laptops, the MSI GS70 Stealth is clearly designed for gaming. The GeForce GT 750M SLI is the single item that helped the Lenovo Y510p perform better in terms of gaming. However, the remainder of its characteristics aren’t very gaming-friendly.
So, how do you decide between the MSI GS70 and the Lenovo Y510p? In comparison to the MSI GS70, the Lenovo Y510p is substantially more cheap. Between these two gaming machines, there is a huge price difference. If you’re on a budget and don’t want the additional gaming capabilities that the MSI GS70 provides, the Lenovo Y510p is a fine choice.
If money isn’t a problem, I’d choose the MSI GS70 over the Lenovo Y510p, based on not just the graphics processor but also the other specifications and features. If you decide to go with the Lenovo Y510p, be sure to pick the one with GeForce GT 750M SLI (built-in GT 750M plus additional GT 750M through UltraBay), otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy the gaming experience.
