After an embarrassing loss in the Lakers, Dennis Schroder took to Instagram to take a shot at L.A., saying that they should “stop playing like girls.” The comment caused massive backlash on social media with many people calling for his suspension. On Wednesday night, he responded by scoring 55 points and handing out 10 assists in a game against the 76ers
The “dennis schroder extension” is a basketball player who plays for the Boston Celtics. He has been with the team since 2013 and is on his 4th contract with them. Dennis Schroder was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2017, but he still remains on good terms with Boston.

Dennis Schroder deserves recognition. After leading Boston to a victory against the Lakers in LeBron James’ first game in two weeks, the former Lakers and current Celtics point guard may have been a little annoying in the NBA interview room.
When questioned about playing his former squad, he stayed composed. “It was fun,” he remarked. “We had a competition out there.” Fortunately, we were victorious in the game. Now we have to concentrate on OKC.”
Schröder: I’m going to say something “In Atlanta, I injured my foot very badly… For this one, I had to get up. I managed to make it work.”

“I twisted my ankle very hard (in Atlanta),” Schroder said, referring to his injury in Boston’s last game, a defeat to the Hawks. For this one, I had to get up. “I managed to make it work.”
He also made the Lakers work, outplaying Russell Westbrook, who took his spot as the team’s starting point guard. Schroder had 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists on 8-for-14 shooting, while Westbrook only had 12 points, six assists, and four rebounds on 5-for-13 shooting.
The Celtics capitalized on Schroder’s departure from the Lakers.
Of all, it was a nasty split with the Lakers that prompted Schroder to join the Celtics in the first place. Schroder was acquired in a trade with the Thunder for Danny Green before to the 2020-21 season, which seemed like a bargain for L.A. for most of last season.
Schroder was so good last season that the Lakers gave him a contract extension in the hopes of keeping him on the team. Schroder rejected the Lakers’ first offer of two years and $33 million, which was the maximum amount the franchise could give under the collective bargaining agreement.
Dennis Schroder has rejected down a $84 million deal with the Lakers, according to Brian Windhorst | The Jump Brian Windhorst discusses Dennis Schroder’s decision to decline a four-year, $84 million agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers on The Jump. Because Schroder is also a rental, Kendrick Perkins believes the Lakers should have gone “all-in” to trade for Kyle Lowry. #Lakers #NBA #TheJump ☑️ ESPN+ may be found at plus.espn.com. Later in the season, the Lakers were able to give Schroder a bigger contract, but he declined a four-year, $84 million deal, according to ESPN. Schroder has questioned how good of a deal the Lakers made. Regardless, he didn’t sign a contract extension throughout the season and struggled as the season progressed.
He averaged 14.3 points on 40.0 percent shooting and 30.8 percent 3-point shooting in the playoffs, continuing his troubles. The Lakers no longer wanted Schroder to be their man long-term by the time the Lakers were knocked out of the playoffs in six games by Phoenix, and his value had plummeted ahead of free agency.
Schroder had no substantial offers and was forced to accept a $5.9 million contract with the Celtics.
Schroder is a Fantastic Deal
To the disappointment of Lakers fans—and the delight of Celtics fans—Schroder has been restoring his reputation in Boston so far. With his effort on Friday, he now has five 20-point performances in his previous seven games. He was averaging 17.0 points on 44.0 percent shooting and 32.8 percent 3-point shooting before the contest.
For the Celtics, it’s all simple to appreciate since Schroder is such a steal. Meanwhile, Westbrook is earning 7.7 times more than Schroder this season.
Schroder has been filling in for star winger Jaylen Brown in the Celtics’ starting lineup, and it’s unknown if he’ll keep his spot after Brown recovers from a two-week hamstring ailment.
Marcus Smart on the Celtics vs. Lakers matchup: “We’re not flawless, but the battle is within us” BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS — Following Boston’s statement victory against Los Angeles, Marcus Smart was interviewed. “On that side of the court, Dennis has been a fantastic addition to this team, just being able to create for others and allowing me to create for others as well,” Celtics guard Marcus Smart said. “When we’re rolling like that, it gives everyone else the additional energy they need to get into their own game and get into a rhythm, and I believe we saw that tonight.”
